    I think there should be a distinction between “grimdark” which I understand as this muscle-pumped, post-Frank Miller macho way of doing camp, and what you aimed for here.

    BTW I already have a couple of ideas for v. 2:
    1) Furta sacra: The business of saints’ relics and pilgrimage
    2) Death and burial in the middle ages

      Yeah. Pigs are awesome like that. “Del maiale non si butta via niente” is the Italian version, but sadly it doesn’t have any squeal pun. Though people sometimes add “and you can metal-plate the tail to have an handy corkscrew”. Often people fall for it.
